MLK Week Rally:
In 2026, join us at the University of Utah as we welcome the new year with purpose, courage, and hope, guided by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s timeless call to action: “The time is always right to do what is right.”
The MLK Rally will kick off by uplifting the voices of K–12 student leaders who exemplify Dr. King’s message through their leadership, service, and commitment to justice. The program will also feature inspiring musical performances by talented students from the School of Music, setting the tone for a powerful and reflective experience.

Danor Gerald
Danor Gerald is an Emmy Award–winning producer and host of Roots, Race & Culture on PBS Utah. He serves on the Arts Council for the City of Saratoga Springs and in local church leadership. As a filmmaker, actor, and creative consultant, he has spent over two decades helping Utah businesses and non-profits tell compelling stories, strengthen communities, and amplify their impact. His TEDx Talk on social connection and economic strength is on the TEDxUtah YouTube channel.

Greg Noel
Greg Noel is a gregarious, charismatic, and life-loving individual who identifies as a first-generation Haitian-American. Greg has lived and worked in the state of Utah since 2009. Since arriving, he’s acquired his undergraduate degree in Psychology, became a husband, became a father, acquired his master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and is a fervent advocate for transformative systemic change within his community.
Greg has received the following distinctions for his passionate work in the community:

Tunisha Brown
Tunisha Brown is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of IMPACT Magazine, a premier media platform celebrating trailblazers and change-makers across industries. With over 18 years of experience, she has grown the publication from a readership of 75 to more than 300,000 monthly visitors, securing partnerships with major brands including Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, and Buckner.
A respected voice in brand development, public relations, and strategic storytelling, Tunisha is known for producing impactful content, hosting transformative events, and curating high-profile conversations that center culture, leadership, and wellness. Her work has been recognized nationally; IMPACT Magazine is archived in the JW Marriott Library at the University of Utah and the Salt Lake City Library, and she has been named a Citibank Woman to Watch and Utah Business 30 Women to Watch.
In 2024, her television series In the Moment with Tunisha screened at the Essence Festival of Culture before an audience of over 500,000. Tunisha remains deeply committed to creating opportunities for Black women and underserved communities through scholarships, civic partnerships, and purpose-driven media.

Dr. P. Brandon Johnson
Dr. P. Brandon Johnson serves as the Senior Associate Dean for Student Success and Transformative Experiences in the Office of Undergraduate Studies at the University of Utah. In this capacity, he offers strategic leadership for programs aimed at enhancing student engagement, success, and completion, both within Undergraduate Studies and through university-wide initiatives. His portfolio encompasses a range of vital units, including the Learning Center, the Office for First-Generation Success, and TRIO Programs (Student Support Services and Upward Bound). Additionally, he is responsible for first experience initiatives and access programs for Indigenous students and those in the foster care system.
He is a published author with research and professional activities that have produced several presentations at national and regional conferences, webinars, and symposia concerning student success and retention, the first-year experience, and academic advising. Dr. Johnson is a North Carolina native, and earned his doctorate in Education Studies with a concentration in Higher Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
